Seit einigen Tagen ist nun der lange erwartete JETI Duplex Handsender DS-12 verfügbar. Die Anlage bringt einige Neuerung mit, die wir uns hier einmal genauer ansehen.

2-Wege-HF und neues 900MHz-Protokoll

Mit der JETI Duplex DS-12 können zwei 2,4-GHz-Empfänger mit nur einem eingebauten HF-Modul gebunden und bedient werden. Bei Bedarf kann auch auf das 900MHz-Modul zurückgegriffen werden, welches standardmäßig softwareseitig zwar nicht enthalten ist, allerdings über eine Upgrade-Funktion nachgerüstet werden kann. Auf die Upgrademöglichkeiten gehen wir weiter unten noch genauer ein.

Das integrierte 900MHz-System basiert auf einem neuen Übertragungsprotokoll, daher können die bekannten JETI Standard-Backup-Empfänger mit der DS-12 nicht mehr genutzt werden. Für das verbesserte 900MHz-NG (Next Generation) System werden im Laufe der kommenden Wochen Empfänger auf den Markt kommen, die zunächst nur mit der DS-12 funktionieren. Eine Upgrademöglichkeit auf das neue 900MHz-NG-System für die DS/DC-24 ist angedacht, allerdings steht hier noch kein Termin fest.

Upgrades: Gewünschte Features nachrüsten

Eine PDF-Datei gibt einen Überblick über die Standard-Features, die im Lieferumfang der DS-12 enthalten sind. Über den JETI Duplex Software-Shop können bei Bedarf einzelne Features oder drei verschiedene Pakete erworben werden und so neue oder erweiterte Funktionen auf der DS-12 installiert werden. Hierzu ist die persönliche Registrierung auf der Website sowie die Registrierung des Senders mit der eindeutigen Seriennummer notwendig. Die gewählten Upgrades werden dann von JETI in einer individuellen „activation.bin“-Datei per eMail ausgeliefert.

Schaltertausch im DS-12 Gehäuse

Das Vertauschen der im Gehäuse eingebauten Schalter ist auch bei der DS-12 möglich. Während allerdings beispielsweise die DS-24 automatisch erkennt, dass Schalter auf einem anderen Steckplatz auf der Platine umgesteckt wurden, muss dies der neuen DS-12 im Menü „Sticks und Schalter Setup“ erst noch mitgeteilt werden.

Erweiterungsplatine für individuelle Knüppelschalter

Wer Knüppel mit zusätzlichen Schaltern oder Tastern nachrüsten möchte, benötigt eine Erweiterungsplatine, die auf die Hauptplatine des DS-12 aufgesetzt werden muss. Darauf können dann alle für die DS- und DC-Sender erhältlichen Knüppelschalter angelötet werden. Die Platine wird ebenfalls in den kommenden Wochen erhältlich sein.

Online-Hilfe auf dem Farbdisplay

Im Lieferumfang des JETI Duplex DS-12 Handsenders ist nur noch eine verkürzte Anleitung in gedruckter Form enthalten. Die PDFs, die heruntergeladen werden können sind zwar noch deutlich umfangreicher, aus Aktualitätsgründen legt JETI allerdings das Augenmerk auf eine Online-Hilfe direkt im Sender. Zu jedem Menü wird ein Fragezeichensymbol im Display angezeigt. Direkt über die Menütaste wird dann im Farbdisplay der gerade ausgewählte Punkt der Anleitung einsehbar. Mit jedem Update kommt so auch immer die aktualisierte Online-Hilfe direkt auf den Sender.

Zubehör

Passend zum DS-12 Handsender sind zwei Senderpulte verfügbar, die mit verschiedenen Gurten oder Umhängeriemen genutzt werden können.

The long-awaited JETI Duplex transmitter DS-12 is now available for several days. The system brings some innovation, which we take a closer look.

2-way RF and new 900MHz protocol

With the JETI Duplex DS-12, two 2.4 GHz receivers can be connected and operated with just one built-in RF module. If required, the 900MHz module can also be used, which by default is not included on the software side, but can be retrofitted with an upgrade function. We will have a glance at the upgrade options in more detail below.

The integrated 900MHz system is based on a new transmission protocol, so the well-known JETI standard backup receiver cannot be used with the DS-12. For the improved 900MHz NG (Next Generation) system, receivers will be launched in the coming weeks that initially only work with the DS-12. An upgrade to the new 900MHz NG system for the DS/DC-24 is being considered, but there is no date fixed.

Upgrades: Retrofit desired features

A PDF file provides an overview of the standard features included with the DS-12. If required, individual features or three different packages can be purchased via the JETI Duplex Software Shop to install new or enhanced functions on the DS-12. For this purpose, the personal registration on the website and the registration of the sender with the unique serial number is necessary. The selected upgrades are then delivered by JETI in an individual „activation.bin“ file via email.

Switch exchange in the DS-12 housing

Swapping the switches built into the housing is also possible with the DS-12. While, for example, the DS-24 automatically detects that switches have been reconnected to a different slot on the board, this has yet to be communicated to the new DS-12 in the „Sticks and Switch Setup“ menu.

Expansion board for individual switches

If you would like to retrofit sticks with additional switches or buttons, you will need an expansion board that has to be mounted on the main board of the DS-12. Then all the stick switches available for the DS and DC transmitters can be soldered on. The board will also be available in the coming weeks.

Online help on the color screen

The delivery of the JETI Duplex DS-12 handheld transmitter only includes a shortened manual in printed form. The PDFs that can be downloaded are still much more extensive, but for reasons of timeliness JETI puts the focus on online help directly in the transmitter. For each menu a question mark symbol is shown in the display. Directly via the menu button, the currently selected point of the manual will be visible in the color display. With every update, the updated online help comes directly to the transmitter.

Equipment

Matching the DS-12 handheld transmitter two transmitter consoles are available, which can be used with different straps or shoulder straps.
